Congressman Dennis Ross

Congressman Dennis Ross is a member of the Freshman Class of the 112th Congress, the largest Freshman Class in six decades, representing Florida's Twelfth Congressional District. In the November 2, 2010, general election, Ross defeated Democratic nominee Lori Edwards, the open seat previously held by incumbent Representative Adam Putnam .

Ross will assume office in January 2011.

Dennis Ross Biography: Ross was born October 18, 1959 in Lakeland, Florida. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management. He is an attorney, graduating from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1987. He is married to Cindy Ross. He is a Presbyterian.

He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2000.

Congressman Ross is a Republican.

Florida's 12th congressional district includes parts of Hillsborough County, Osceola County and Polk County, Florida. Cities include Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow and Brandon.

Congressman Ross has been appointed to the House Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
